Licensing & Terms
Plain language, no surprises. Here is exactly what you may do with Devscriptor and Juggler.
The short version
Free forever for individual and non-commercial use. Personal projects, learning, side projects, open-source work. No license key, no account, no expiry. This will not change.
Commercial use requires a seat — $19 per developer, per month. If the tools are used in the course of a business, that use needs a license. Buy seats or read the detail.
There is no license key. Nothing to activate, nothing to deploy, no phone-home. The binaries are byte-identical whether or not seats have been bought — the license is a legal agreement, not a technical lock.
What is free, permanently
You may use Devscriptor and Juggler at no cost, indefinitely, for:
- •Personal, hobby, and side projects
- •Learning, study, and experimentation
- •Non-commercial and open-source work
- •Evaluating the tools — including inside a company, before you commit to them
No license key is required, and none of this requires a network connection.
Support development (optional)
The section above is a permanent commitment: free use stays free, and nothing here is required to keep it that way. But if Devscriptor or Juggler saves you time and you'd like to help fund the work, you can chip in. It unlocks nothing and changes none of your rights. If your use is commercial, buy a seat instead — that is the part that actually keeps this sustainable.

Commercial use
Commercial use means using the software in the course of a business — on a company’s code, for paid client work, or as part of a commercial product or service.
A seat costs $19 per developer, per month, or $190 per developer, per year (two months free). One seat per person who uses the tools for commercial work in a given month:
- •Counted per person — not per machine, per repository, or per process
- •Laptops, dev containers, CI runners, and build agents are unlimited and free
- •Someone who never runs the tools does not need a seat
- •Evaluation is free, including inside a company, before you commit
Sold on trust, not enforced. There is no license key, no activation, and no seat telemetry — because enforcement is a phone-home, and we are not going to ship one to paying customers when the free build has none.
Nothing stops working if you do not buy a seat. Nothing changes about the binaries if you do. We are relying on you to license the use you make of them, and in exchange nothing in your build pipeline ever talks to us.
What you may not do
- •Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the binaries
- •Present the software as your own work
- •Remove or alter licensing and attribution notices
Devscriptor and Juggler are proprietary software. All rights not expressly granted above are reserved.
Privacy
Devscriptor's scanning, indexing, and search make no network calls, and neither tool collects telemetry or analytics of any kind. Your source code never leaves your machine. See Security & Privacy for the complete picture, including the one-time embedding-model download and on-demand LSP server installs — the only network activity either tool ever performs.
No warranty
The software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the authors are not liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from the use of the software.
